Ray Spooner was diagnosed with ALS December 2014. After the initial shock Ray decided to fulfill his dream to ride his bike across the United States and use it as a way to bring awareness and raise funds to find a cure for ALS. It was clear his efforts would not benefit him but those in the future that would receive the same devastating news. Shortly before his death last summer a friend asked Ray if he would be ok with an annual bike ride in his name that would continue to benefit his cause to raise funds for MDA through Rayslittleeide. He smiled and texted that he liked the idea of a ride. To read more about Ray’s journey check out his blog here.

In addition to Ray’s amazing fund raising efforts, his daughter, Sophia will begin her own adventure with a “little stroll” this summer.
Hello friends, family, acquaintances, and everything in between! Our names are Yoni and Sophia. We met in the summer of 2013 and have been together ever since. As many of you know, we lost my dad, Ray Spooner in August. Before he passed away, he raised more than $85,000 by biking across the country to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). He did this despite his understanding that the money he would raise would have no impact during his own lifetime. This summer, the two of us plan on hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, a 2,650 mile hike on the west coast of America that begins in Mexico and ends in Canada in order to continue the work that he has started.
